On August 8th, ESPN2 became ESPN8: The Ocho. Borrowing from the classic comedy, Dodgeball, they devoted the day to covering little-known and wacky sports with over the top commentary and fanfare.

 

KFC sponsored the entire day, and Playback Digital was in charge of editing a total of 39 deliverables based around 6 scripted, comedy shorts, featuring Kenny Mayne and John Buccigross. Three editors, one assistant editor, and one motion graphics artist coordinated smoothly to push through a 3 week turnaround.
